As previously disclosed in the Current Report on Form 8-K filed by Akebia Therapeutics, Inc. (the Company) on September 15, 2014, the Companys Board of Directors (the Board) elected Ronald C. Renaud, Jr. as a director. Mr. Renaud was not appointed to any committee of the Board at that time. On September 18, 2014, Mr. Renaud was appointed to serve on the Companys Compensation Committee.
